Children of the Cross

The youth of Good Shepherd, ages Jr. High through High School, are known as Children of the Cross. We do many fun activities such as: lock-ins at the YMCA, Lutheran Outdoor Ministries Center (LOMC) retreats, the annual children’s Christmas program, and vacation bible school. We are also involved with confirmation ministry and Sunday school.

Every year our group also puts on an Easter breakfast that is free-will donation. The money raised goes into our youth account to help pay for our activities.

We do community service as well. Raking yards and are working on planning a mission trip. A collection is done on Souper Bowl Sunday in January where the money is divided between the Le-Win Food Pantry and ELCA World Disaster Relief.

Children of the Cross try to meet once a month to plan and do other exciting activities and events.

June 27-July 1, 2018
2018 is a Youth Gathering year. We are going to Houston, TX to love and serve God and our neighbor. The theme of the gathering is “This Changes Everything” which is based on Ephesians 2:8 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” The Youth gathering provides wonderful opportunities for youth and adults to grow their faiths in Jesus Christ. It is open to 8th to 12th graders at the time of registration and for adult leaders, the person must be 21 years old or older. If you or someone you know are interested, please talk to Pr. Miho.
