40 Days and 40 Care Kits
Lutheran World Relief is a dire need of personal care kits this year. Good
Shepherd will collect following items during Lent:
80 bath-size bars of soap (in original wrapping)
40 adult-size tooth brush (in it’s original packing)
40 sturdy combs
40 metal nail clippers
Thanks to the generosity of the Piece Corps Quilters who provided 40 bath
towels to do this project.
Tips for the collection:
Buy in bulk or ask local stores. Some may be willing to give a discount if
they know that we’ll be using the supplies to help people in need. It never
hurts to ask!
All items should be new and in good condition.
Please do NOT donate items with any religious symbols or messages or
church’s names . Please do not donate any items decorated with a U.S. flag,
patriotic or military symbols, or references to the armed forces, including
camouflage.
A Collection tub will be in the church. Thank you
for sharing God’s love to our neighbors.
Whether you make one or a few Lutheran World
Relief Personal Care Kits as a solo kit-maker, or hundreds as part of a kit
assembly with your congregation, every kit you make will be cherished by the
person who receives it in their time of need.
