Piece Corps: Material Needed
Join us Wednesdays from 8:00 to 11:30 am
Quilting Material Needed

“Piece Corps” Quilting is in need of backs for quilting. Any size (twin, full, queen or king) flat sheets or blankets are welcome as well as material of any size. Quilts are given to those in need locally and throughout the world.

Youth Group Nights at Good Shepherd!
7th-12th graders, come join in the Fun and Connection on Wednesday nights at 7pm! Prayer, Games, and Conversation. Let’s grow together! Feel free to invite friends! Who will you invite?

First Holy Communion Preparation
“This is my body and blood which seals God’s promise, that your sins are forgiven.” Matthew 26:27 - 29
Sundays, October 8, 15, & 22 During Sunday School
For any child whom parents feel is ready to receive this Gift from God. Celebration, Sunday, October 29 during Worship. Reception following in Fellowship Hall. This preparation is offered for children to learn about God’s promise of forgiveness for ALL! The preparation will includie listening, sharing, drawing, and making a banner. September/October: Food Pantry Months
The Lena Food Pantry serves residents in the Le-Win and Orangeville School Districts. Donations of food, hygiene products, and paper products can be placed in the Food Pantry boxes and on the table in the Sanctuary. Donations will be bagged and delivered to the Food Pantry by our Confirmation Students.

Friendship Club at Good Shepherd
Second Thursday of Each Month at Noon
This outreach program sponsored by Good Shepherd has been serving seniors in the Lena community for over 30 years. Join us! Visit with friends, eat delicious food, and enjoy great programs planned by Fern Harnish. It is a potluck meal, but you can just come.


Hymn Sing
Join us the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 9:45am at the Lena Living Center for a Hymn Sing. It is a great chance to serve others by helping them find their page numbers, to encourage others, and to sing praises to God! All youth, family, and friends are invited and welcome to join in this fun, relaxing, and rewarding sing along.

A free will offering will be taken. Please join us for this time of fellowship, learning, singing and praising God for the wonderful gift of grace that He has given to us! EVERYONE is invited! If you are interested in singing in the choir for the festival there will be a group rehearsal from 2-2:25pm the day of the hymn festival. Singers are also invited to rehearse with the First Lutheran choir at 7:30pm on Thursday, October 19th.

Handling The Holidays
Saturday, November 4
Learn to cope with grief during the Holiday Season. The holidays are an especially challenging time of the year for adults grieving the loss of a loved one. Learn how to cope during the holiday season with help from our caring hospice team. Saturday, November 4th 1:30pm to 3:30pm, Monroe Clinic Hospice, St Camillus Center, 2101 Sixth St., Monroe, WI. LYO June 2015
Lutheran Youth Organization (LYO) With Christian Rock Band “Lasting Hope” At Youth Synod Assembly June 18 & 19 Augustana College in Rock Island.

All Saints Sunday, November 5
Worship at 9:30 am
We will remember each “Saint” or loved one that died since November last year. A carnation will be placed on the altar in a bud vase and a family member may take it home after the service. Also, the name of each will be read during a prayer. If you have loved ones who died in the past year and you would like them remembered in this way, please call the church office at (815)-369-5552 and leave the information

Men's Group Steak Fry
Saturday October 28th; 4:30pm
Men will have a steak fry along with the monthly meeting. Men of all ages are invited to attend. Please sign up by Sunday October 15th

After School Program
Wednesdays, 3:30 pm at the Hangout
Volunteers Needed!

The After School Program for 4th through 8th graders meets Wednesday afternoons at 3:30pm at the Hangout downtown. Each day there is worship with music and a Christian message; pizza; homework help; and lots of time for all sorts of games, challenges and play. Program Committee is looking for volunteers if you are interested in volunteering for the After School Program please call the church office or Pastor Miho.

Singers Needed for Synod-Wide Reformation Ordination Worship and Celebration
This year marks the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and we as Lutherans will honor this important occasion on Sunday, October 29 with a special synod-wide Reformation Ordination Worship and Celebration (Click here for more information).This service will take place at 4:00pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 607-10th Ave., Mendota, Il. All singers are invited and encouraged to sing in the festival choir. Rehearsal is at 2:30pm in the sanctuary. Martin Luther had a profound impact on our worship, and being a musician himself, he knew the value and importance of music in worship. I am looking forward to directing the choir, and I hope that you will consider singing in the festival choir for this exciting event. Additional information for this event is on the bulletin board.
